Join us as we hear about the historic victory in the BC Cambie case. Cambie Surgeries CEO Brian Day's group (Cambie Surgeries Corporation et al) launched an attack that could have ushered in US-style profit-driven health care. BC Health Coalition served as an intervenor in the case and we are excited to have both Edith and Usman to tell us all about it and what happens now.

The courts made it clear this case was never about wait times - it was about profit.

Edith MacHattie is the co-chair of the BC Health Coalition and has been honoured to hold this position since 2014. In her day job, she works as a community occupational therapist in the public system supporting kids with complex medical situations and their families. She is grateful for public health care and her unionized job every day. Edith lives with her wife and 2 young kids in a housing co-op on unceded Coast Salish territory in BC.
Usman Mushtaq is the Coordinator of the BC Health Coalition. Having come into the position only recently, he's pleased to be presenting on the Cambie decision which is a result of almost 10 years of dedicated work by members and the previous staff of the BC Health Coalition. Usman is parenting, living, and working on unceded Coast Salish territory.
